Hemlock Wraithfighter

So I picked some new Eldar stuff up yesterday. The models I’m most excited about are the two flyers. I’m going to build one of each for now and see if it’s worth picking up a second of either later on. Still not done with all the detail work, but it’s coming along wonderfully.  An excellent kit and I can’t wait to build the Crimson Hunter as well.

High Elves WIP

A few work in progress shots of the High Elves. Going to work on these some more this week, and then get ready for the new Eldar release. I’m really excited for a new book, and I really like a bunch of the new models.

Night Spinner WIP

I really enjoy painting the vehicles for this army and so after working on the Harlequins, decided to take a break and paint the Night Spinner up.  I absolutely love both the rules and look of this model.  Strength 6 large blast with rending, barrage, and causes hit units to treat next move as difficult and dangerous.  In 5th edition this was awesome as you had a 1/6 change of killing any model since no armor saves were allowed.  While not as powerful in 6th edition, the barrage rules got better and with the increase in infantry the large blast is really nice.  It’s also fairly cheap for an Eldar unit at 115.

I still need to do more detail work, including the pilot and gunner, and I need to find a windshield which I couldn’t find.  I’m also going to try and do a grey highlight on the black intakes to give it a little more depth.

Harlequins

Harlequin Troop
I decided to do the Harlequins in the Mymeara colors rather than in the traditional patterns.  Mostly because I don’t think I’m good enough of a painter to do the patterns, but also to let the army have a cohesive look.  I did use a lot of red and purple to have them stand out.

100th Post – Two Painted Armies

Too celebrate my 100th post on the blog, I figured I would get both of my armies out on the table I built and get some pictures. This is less than two years worth of painting. I’m really proud of what I’ve accomplished and it’s great to have a couple decently painted armies. I still have a lot of Eldar to finish, and have a bunch of detail work left on the Lamenters, but I’m pleased with my progress.

Mymeara army so far

I have about 1700 points painted up.  I do need to finish up some bases and a few details but it’s really coming together.  I have a few thousand points more to paint, but this is a nice core.

Aegis Defense Line for Lamenters

I haven’t forgotten the Lamenters.  Here is an Aegis Defense Line with Quadcannon upgrade on the ice board.  Painted up really quick and easy.  Not sure how much I’ll ever use it with them, as I like to play them fast moving and have very little shooting.

I painted up a Falcon Grav Tank for the Mymeara this weekend.  I’m extremely pleased with how it turned out.  I’m going to have to add more vehicles into my lists, just for how nice they look.  I just hope they get better with a new codex.

I’m also really happy with the gems.  There are ton of them on the model and I can do them pretty quickly now and they look decent if you don’t look to close.

Eldrad

Finished up Eldrad last night.  I might go do a little work on the staff as I’m not completely happy with it, but it’s good enough for getting to the table to play.  I might try and use the airbrush on the sword to add some detail there.  Maybe get some more purple in the model.
