I’ve managed to put the purple down on the knight and have started on the gold trim. I’m really pleased how it’s coming together. I need to finish the gold up and then go back and cleanup over spray on the metals. Also decide how I want to wash the metals and I’d I want to add a third metal color accent or not.
I did a quick color test for the Knight Acheron tonight. I knew I wanted to do a purple for the armor plates, but I wasn’t sure on the trim color. I am likely to go with the bright brass as the silver doesn’t contrast very well with the main metal internals.
I finished painting up the Triaros. What a great model. I just love the look of it. Sadly it didn’t get to do anything in my last game as it got stomped on by an imperial knight. I might go back and add some decals later if I can get some made.
Triaros Armoured Conveyour
I played a 3500 point game versus Pete’s Death Guard. I don’t remember what the name of the mission, but there were 3 objectives that scattered and you had to control them at the end of a turn. I ended up loosing 9-8 for a super close game.
Did some assembly work on the knight. Such a beautiful model and it went together really well. There is a missing piece that I am waiting on Forgeworld to send, but it’s a great kit to put together. Now to figure out the paint scheme to use.
I have managed to make a lot of progress on the Triaros. I love this model the more I work on it. Such a unique style and it fits the Mechanicum theme perfectly. Still need to do a lot of detail work and washes. Not sure if I’m gonna weather this one or not.
Triaros Armoured Conveyor
I got to play my Undead Legions army against Skaven this afternoon in and End Times game. We played with the new magic rules from Khaine and it really changed the feel of the game. It added a lot of time to get through the spells, but was also a lot of fun. I don’t see using them every game, but they offered a fun variant. I managed to summon about 1000 points of models and then he would remove them in his magic phase, but it was cool to drop a Terrorgheist in the middle of the table to threaten his army. I had a blast and can’t wait to get the army repaired and start painting it up a bit better.
I managed to assemble the Triaros I got for Christmas. I managed to snap the bottom piece while attempting to unwarp it. I was able to fix it and get it put together. I love the look of this thing, half tank half train. I’m hoping to try some chipping and weathering techniques out when I paint it.
It’s been quiet here for a while as due to some health problems I’ve been unable to paint. Late last year I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and started treatment. It’s made hobby time scarce and my hands shake a lot now making painting hard. I did finally manage to build this Terrorgheist and I absolutely love it. One of my favorite models that GW has ever produced.
During the Badab War the Sons of Medusa managed to salvage a number of vehicles from the Lamenters chapter. Being skilled reclaimers, their tech priests were able to get an impressive number into service. One highlight was the Stormraven, Heretic’s Folly, which was recovered with only minor engine damage. The Iron Thane Vaylund Cal himself assisted in the rites to appease the venerable machine spirit. After limited trial combat, the newly christened Liberata now is used by the chapter for the for remote insertion and fire support for its Terminators.
