Death Company Chaplain

Painted up a chaplain/reclusiarch for the Lamenters tonight.  With death company getting a whole lot better with 6th edition, I figured chaplains might be getting a bit better as well.  He’s built out of a couple different bits: torso is from the death company, bolt pistol from chaos space marine, and the power maul (I figure now that crozius counts as a power maul I might as well use one) from a Chaos Terminator.  The back is magnetized for the normal backpack or the jump pack.  Overall I’m pretty happy with how he turned out.

Lamenters Strike Force

My currently fully painted Lamenters force.  Small, but the initial momentum is done and I have a lot of stuff that is really close to completion.  Having that painted core is great, because it really inspires you to flesh out the army.   Right now I can field just shy of 1500 points, though that would not be an even remotely competitive army.  I am almost done with a number of units and vehicles that will let me field a decent little army though.

Near completion: Baal and normal Predator, Land Raider Crusader/Redeemer (magnetized for either option), 10 additional assault marines, Sanguinary Priest with jump pack, and 5 lightening claw terminators.  Each unit will take a couple hours in the evening to complete.

Completed Reclusiarch/Chaplain

So as a reward for getting the first Assault Squad painted up, I decided to work on a HQ.  I recently got a nice lot of 40k miniatures at the local thrift store and included in it was a nice metal Chaplain in Terminator Armor.  I can use him in my army either as a  Chaplain or Reclusiarch depending on the other choices in the army.  This was an absolute blast to paint and the detail is amazing while not being overwhelming.  Still need to touch up with some wash in a few places, but overall I’m very happy with how it turned out.
