Building and Magnetizing a Wraithknight

Here are some work in progress pictures of the magnetizing efforts for the Wraithknight. I can build any of the primary weapon systems and will be finishing the secondary weapons up this week. I will also add magnets to where the torso connects to the legs to allow it to break down but still have a solid base. The legs are also only partially glued for ease of painting and putting on a nice base.

I picked up a Riptide over the weekend and manged to get most of it done.  Still need to go in a do all the lenses with purple, and I might add some more black and white on the body to provide some contrast, but I’m really happy with how it’s turning out.  I’ve magnetized the weapons so that I can take either of the main weapons or secondary weapons.  Still need to do the little support system bits that come with the kit which will also be magnetized.  The kit is great and it was a lot of fun to build.

Death Company Chaplain

Painted up a chaplain/reclusiarch for the Lamenters tonight.  With death company getting a whole lot better with 6th edition, I figured chaplains might be getting a bit better as well.  He’s built out of a couple different bits: torso is from the death company, bolt pistol from chaos space marine, and the power maul (I figure now that crozius counts as a power maul I might as well use one) from a Chaos Terminator.  The back is magnetized for the normal backpack or the jump pack.  Overall I’m pretty happy with how he turned out.

More airbrush basecoating on two dreadnoughts.

An update.  After some errand running in the late afternoon I was able to get the dreadnoughts base-coated with the airbrush.  I have the Blood Angels Furioso kit here as well as the AoBR dreadnought.  They are both magnetized to accept any of the arms (also have assault cannon, multi-melta, and two more normal DCC arms that still need some work).  The sarcophagus on the Furioso is magnetized to accept any of the three sarcophagi.  Also the normal arms are magnetized to allow the blood talons or fists.

There is a team tournament at a semi-local game store later this month, and I’m hoping to make some nice progress on the army so that it looks semi respectable.
